Jim Mahlmann appeared in the March edition of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association’s monthly publication, the Business VOICE.
In the Making Connections section of the publication, the article “Senate President, Assembly Speaker Back NJBIA – Vocational School Coalition for Career Education” highlights the meeting of education leaders, employers, and New Jersey government officials to launch this new coalition.
As a coalition member of the “NJ Employer Coalition for Technical Education”, Jim Mahlmann and other members of the coalition joined the Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto on February 20th in a press conference.
The coalition was spearheaded by NJBIA. The goal is to better prepare high school students for the workforce by:
- expanding vocational technical school programs in New Jersey
- promoting quality career and technical education
- developing relationships with employers, vocational technical schools, and students
Jim is a founding member of the coalition. He was invited to participate on the coalition because he is a board member of the Ocean County Vocational School system and has actively placed students in internship positions in his company for website graphic design, networking, and programming.
